Objectives

The International Chamber Orchestra of Puerto Rico (ICOPR) is the brainchild of its Artistic Director Emilio Colón, Associate Professor of Cello at Indiana University Jacobs School of Music and President of the American Cello Institute, Inc., (ICOPR's parent organization, a 501(c)(3) non profit organization), as well as a native of Puerto Rico. Reviving the vision once imagined by the legendary cellist and humanitarian Pablo Casals, ICOPR has six major objectives:

1. Use music to foster intercultural peace, unity and brotherhood

2. Promote Puerto Rico internationally through the highest level of artistry

3. Promote social change through music

4. Attract new audiences

5. Nurture and develop young artists and future innovation

6. Inspire a love of music and world vision in the very young
